Can I learn enough to guide my career correctly?

Yes, we will guide you through some of the most valuable information you can receive — and it should be the foundation for any beginning actor in the entertainment business. At Show Biz 101, we believe that the right education is the key to starting your  career with confidence. After receiving this essential information, you’ll be ready to take actionable steps and begin your  journey that very same day! With the tools and insights we provide, you'll have the knowledge you need to confidently guide your  career — whether they’re just starting out or looking to take the next big step.

Do you find me an agent or guarantee anything?

No, and here’s why: This workshop is not designed to guarantee that you will land an agent or get work right away. The reality is, an actor may work with multiple agents and representatives over the course of their career. What’s most important is that you, understand the process of finding an agent, signing contracts, and managing expectations. If anyone promises to guarantee an agent or guaranteed work, they are not being honest with you. The entertainment industry is unpredictable, and no one can promise success in that way. The goal of our workshop is to empower you with the knowledge to manage your budding career effectively. We do not provide headshots, resumes, or acting classes. Instead, we focus on teaching you — the actor — how to navigate Show-business, understand industry standards, and make informed decisions every step of the way.

Do I actually need acting classes?

This depends on several factors, including your age, personality, experience and your ability to take direction. In many cases, beginning actors are naturally comfortable on camera and may not require extensive training right away. Your instincts and natural charisma can often be enough to get started. As your career grows that may change. More formal training may become necessary to refine your skills, especially as you take on more challenging roles. Additionally, socializing with other like-minded actors can be a great way to nurture your confidence, and provide a sense of community. The key is understanding that acting classes aren't always required from the start, but may be beneficial down the road — depending on your  development and career goals.

Am I a good fit for Show business?

That’s exactly what this workshop is designed to help you figure out. Show business isn’t for everyone, and it’s important to have a realistic understanding of both the ups and downs before diving in. In this class, you’ll gain valuable insights from a professional casting director’s perspective on what the industry really expects — and what it takes to succeed. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have the knowledge you need to answer this important question for yourself.

Do you teach us how to avoid a scam?

Many companies prey on parents by charging upwards of $10,000 for things like "packaging" and "showcasing" your child. The truth is, the average cost to get started for any child actor — including headshots, resumes, and submission services — is under $1,000. These are essential tools, and even if your child is being “packaged,” they will still need these basic elements to get started. If you’re not familiar with how the industry works, it’s easy to fall into the trap of spending thousands on unnecessary services. That’s why it’s critical that you, as a parent, remain in control of what’s being done at every step. You need to know exactly what you're being asked to pay for, and whether it’s truly necessary for your child’s success.

Can I really get started the same day after this workshop?

Absolutely! You can get started the very same day. After the workshop, you’ll receive a "Jump Start Kit", which includes a reference list of essential resources covered in the class. This kit will provide you with photographers, resume examples, and links to most of the critical information you’ll need moving forward. With this knowledge in hand, you’ll be ready to start your child’s career as a professional actor with confidence and clarity.

Doesn’t my agent or manager take care of everything?

No they do not! They simply do not have time, nor the interest in teaching clients what they should be doing. This is the responsibility of the actor to know this information before you walk into a casting office. In addition, if you should happen to find an agent without the base knowledge of the business, you will have to put all your trust in someone you know very little about.
